West African Language Solutions is a language consulting and translation-focused practice dedicated to clarity, accuracy, and meaning in communication. Leadership
Dr. Emmanuel Kofi Nkansah
The practice is led by Dr Emmanuel Kofi Nkansah, a Ghanaian–French scholar, linguist, and professional translator trained in Ghana, France, and Nigeria. He brings deep multilingual expertise, cross-cultural competence, and academic rigour to every engagement.
Dr Nkansah served as the translator from French to English of the seminal international law reference work: Disputes on Human Rights Violation before the ECOWAS Court of Justice.
Originally authored in French by Professor Alioune Sall, a renowned jurist and international law expert.
Professor Alioune Sall was elected Vice-President of the United Nations International Law Commission (ILC) in Geneva in 2025 at its 76th session, and has been a member of the ILC since 2021. He is a visiting professor at the Hague Academy of International Law, a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, a lecturer at Cheikh Anta Diop University, Dakar, and a former Judge of the ECOWAS Court of Justice.
The English translation of this work by Dr Nkansah is officially preserved electronically at the Faculty of Law, University of California, Berkeley. UC Berkeley Law is consistently ranked among the top law schools globally and is widely recognised as a leading public law institution in the United States, underscoring the scholarly and institutional value of this translation.
